ఉద్దేశ్యం:

  • దేశానికి నౌకా దళాల విజయాలు, దేశ రక్షణలో వారి పాత్రను గుర్తుచేసుకొవడం భారత నౌకాదళ దినోత్సవం (Indian Navy Day) యొక్క ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశ్యం.

డిసెంబరు 4 నే ఎందుకు?

  • 1971 డిసెంబరు 4న భారత నేవీ, పాకిస్తాన్ అతిపెద్ద నౌకాశ్రయం అయిన కరాచి పోర్టుపై మెరుపు దాడి చేసి మూడు ఓడలను ముంచి వేసింది.
  • రాత్రి సమయంలో భారత్ చేసిన ఈ దాడిని ఆపరేషన్ ట్రైడెంట్ (Operation Trident) అని అంటారు. దాని జ్ఞాపకార్ధం, భారతదేశంలో నౌకాదళ దినోత్సవం (Navy Day) ను జరుపుకుంటారు.
  • కేవలం దేశరక్షణకే కాకుండా మానవతా సహాయాలకు, ప్రకృతి వైపరీత్యాలు  సంభవించినపుడు సహాయం కొరకు భారత ప్రభుత్వం నేవీని వినియోగిస్తుంది.
