అంతర్జాతీయ కుటుంబ
దినోత్సవం - మే 15

 ఉద్దేశ్యం:
సమాజంలో కుటుంబ వ్యవస్థ బలహీనపడుతున్న ఈ నేపథ్యంలో కుటుంబాల విలువలను తెలియజేయడం, కుటుంబాలకు సంబంధించిన సమస్యలపై అవగాహన పెంచడం మరియు కుటుంబాలను ప్రభావితం చేసే సామాజిక, ఆర్థిక మరియు జనాభా ప్రక్రియల పరిజ్ఞానాన్ని పెంచడం అంతర్జాతీయ కుటుంబ దినోత్సవం (International Day of Families) ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశ్యం.

 ఎప్పటి నుంచి?
1993 లో ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి సర్వసభ్య సమావేశం ప్రతి సంవత్సరం మే 15 ను అంతర్జాతీయ కుటుంబ దినోత్సవంగా పాటించాలని తీర్మానం చేసింది.
1994 నుంచి ప్ర‌తి సంవ‌త్స‌రం మే 15 వ తేదీన  అంతర్జాతీయ కుటుంబ దినోత్స‌వాన్ని ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా జరుపుకుంటున్నారు.

కుటుంబం (Family):
ఒకే గృహంలో నివసించే కొంత మంది మానవుల సమూహాన్ని కుటుంబం అంటారు. వీరు సాధారణంగా పుట్టుకతో లేదా వివాహముతో సంబంధమున్నవారు. కుటుంబం అనే పదాన్ని మానవులకే కాకుండా ఇతర జంతు సమూహాలకు కూడా వాడుతారు. అనేక జంతుజాతులలో ఆడ, మగ జంతువులు వాటి పిల్లలు ఒక గుంపుగా సహజీవనం చేస్తుండడం గమనించవచ్చును.
పిల్లలు చిన్నవయస్సులో ఉన్నపుడు తల్లిదండ్రుల చెంతనే ఉంటారు. వారు పెద్దవారై పెళ్ళిళ్ళు అయిపోతే ఎవరి కుటుంబాలు వారివే. అంటే ఒక కుటుంబం నుంచి మరిన్ని కుటుంబాలు ఉదయిస్తాయి. ఒక కుటుంబం మరెన్ని కుటుంబాలను సృష్టించినప్పటికీ వంశవృక్షపు వేళ్లు మాత్రం మొదటి కుటుంబం వద్దే ఉంటాయి.

 మరికొన్ని అంశాలు:
  • 1994 ను అంతర్జాతీయ కుటుంబ సంవత్సరం (International Year of the Family-1994) గా ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి జనరల్ అసెంబ్లీ 9 డిసెంబర్ 1989 న ప్రకటించింది.
  • వసుదైక/ వసుధైవ కుటుంబం అనేది మహా ఉపనిషత్తు వంటి హిందూ గ్రంథాలలో కనిపించే సంస్కృత పదబంధం. దీని అర్థం ప్రపంచం ఒక కుటుంబం. అంటే ఈ ప్రంపచంలో బ్రతికే ప్రతి జీవి నా కుటుంబం అనుకోవడమే వసుదైక కుంటుంబం భావన.
  • మహా ఉపనిషత్తు యొక్క ప్రపంచం ఒక కుటుంబం పద్యం భారత పార్లమెంట్ ప్రవేశ హాలులో చెక్కబడింది.
